Reading

Just back from Melbourne.
Hello to everyone I met at:
~ Gladstone Views Primary School
~ Aitken College
~ Loreto Mandeville Hall
~ Altona Green Primary School
~ Eltham Bookshop Chatterbooks club
~ Readings bookstore in Port Melbourne
(and of course hello to my friends at Anderson Creek Primary).
I had a great time reading and talking at all the schools, answering some really smart questions, some of which I'll post later.
At Eltham Bookshop, I appeared with Gregory Rogers, illustrator of sensational wordless books such as Midsummer Knight, and together we invented a pretty silly pirate called Pistachio.
From tomorrow, I'm visiting a number of schools in Auckland. Better get on with it, then.

Bound for Port Phillip Bay

I'm off to Melbourne tomorrow, where I'll be:
~ visiting lots of schools
~ launching The Pirate's Revenge on Wednesday 18 October, 6.30pm, at Readings Books, 253 Bay Street, Port Melbourne
~ having a whole lot of piratical fun at Eltham Bookshop's Chatterbooks afternoon (details below).
Hopefully I won't have to fight any bushfires while I'm in town - there were 250 (count em!) bushfires raging in Victoria yesterday.

Then from 24 October, I'll be doing the rounds of schools in Auckland. Maybe one of them will be yours.
